How to Compare Commercial BESS Suppliers for Export Projects
Commercial battery sourcing is rarely about a single cabinet. Strong suppliers help you match kWh and kW to the job—backup, solar self-consumption, or peak shaving—and prove it with clear technical files.
Start with the application, not only capacity
A 100kWh class system can mean different things depending on whether the project is for backup power, solar self-consumption, peak shaving, or a microgrid pilot. The supplier should help map capacity to the actual use case.
Check integration scope early (kW, kWh, PCS, EMS, and boundaries)
Ask whether the quotation covers the battery system only (cells + racks) or a full system (PCS/inverter, EMS, protection, monitoring, installation/commissioning). Confirm both power (kW) and energy (kWh) targets, plus the PCS battery voltage window—missing scope creates slow sales cycles and unclear responsibility.
Use documentation as a trust filter (export readiness)
Datasheets, safety notes, warranty position, packing lists, and certification direction help buyers understand whether the supplier is prepared for export conversations.
Use an RFQ checklist to reduce back-and-forth
If you want a usable quote on the first reply, include destination market, grid type (3P3W/3P4W), monthly kWh + peak kW, target battery kWh and charge/discharge kW, PCS/inverter voltage window (LV vs HV), room footprint constraints, certifications/grid code, Incoterms/port, quantity, and timeline.
